No Wednesday lunch, Oct .23

Due to the Installation of Bishop Zaidan, there will be no Wednesday lunch October 23. We will re-open on October 30th at 11 am.


WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23RD—3:00 P.M.—INSTALLATION OF OUR NEW BISHOP

BISHOP ELIAS A. ZAIDAN

The Apostolatic Nuncio, Maronite Bishops from far and near, Eastern Bishops and Latin Bishops will be present to welcome our new Bishop.

Please make every effort to be here so we can join our Parish Community and our friends in welcoming Bishop Elias Zaidan. All are welcome and invited to the Cedars following the ceremony to greet the Bishop and to share in food and drink.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25TH—6:00 P.M.—MASS OF THANKSGIVING BY BISHOP SHAHEEN

Con-celebrated by Bishop Zaidan and visiting Bishops and Priests. Banquet invitations due to seating capacity in the Cedars Hall is open to those who responded to the invitation.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27TH—10:00 AM (ONE MASS ONLY)

This is the first official Mass of the New Bishop as he assumes the Office of Chief Shepherd of our Diocese.

Bishop Shaheen will Con-Celebrate with him as his final Liturgy as Bishop. Visiting Bishops and Priests will also Con-Celebrate.

Following the Liturgy, the Cedars Hall will be open for a complimentary brunch for all Parishioners and guests. We are looking forward to having everyone present. It should be a real community celebration.

 

CONGRATULATIONS!

Chorbishop Moussa Joseph—Our Rector, Msgr. Moussa has been granted the dignity of

Chorbishop by the Patriarch at the request of Bishop Shaheen.

The Ordination will take place sometime in January due to

the fact that we have so many activities from now to the end of

the year. All will be notified of the proper date.

FAITH & HERITAGE
Attention St. Raymond’s Parents: for children 5 years to 8th grade. Faith & Heritage Program began October 6th, 10 am in the Educational Center in the Cedars Hall (lower level). Even if your child is attending Catholic School, our Faith & Heritage Program provides your children with a deeper understanding of our faith, and exposes them to the Maronite Traditions. Registration forms are in the back of church. Please register your children. Its not too late to sign up!
 
SAVE THE DATE
Breakfast with Santa will be Sunday, December 8th this year! Tickets will go on sale November 17th. A mailing has been sent to you this week
We will celebrate the feast of St. Raymond on November 10th with Bishop Zaidan. There will only be one mass that day (10 A.M.) so we can come together as the family of St. Raymond’s. Following mass, everyone is invited to a brunch at The Cedars Hall.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations to the Eparchy of Our Lady of

Lebanon for the new Bishop His Excellency Elias

A. Zaidan who was ordained on Saturday September

28th at 4:00 p.m. at the Basilica of Our Lady of

Lebanon, Harissa, Jounieh by His Beatitude Patriarch

Mar Bechara Bouthos Rai. Bishop Robert Shaheen

Along with a good number of  priests and laity from

The Eparchy were present at this special event.

On Sunday September 29, at 10:30 a.m. the newly

ordained Bishop Elias A. Zaidan surrounded by many

Bishops, clergy and laity, celebrated a liturgy of Thanksgiving at His hometown, “Kousaybeh”

followed by a banquet. On Monday Septmember 30, Bishop Shaheen, Bishop Zaidan and the clergy from the Eparchy of our Lady of Lebanon were invited at Bkerke by Patriarch Rai for an informal gathering, then for a great luncheon.

Here at St. Raymond’s Cathedral, we look forward to the installation liturgy of our new Bishop Elias A. Zaidan on Wednesday October 23, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. followed by a reception at the Cedars Hall from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m.

I encourage all of you, dear Parishioners and friends of St. Raymond’s to take the time and participate in this historical event which will not happen frequently.

I ask you kindly to send your responses for this event so we can get an idea about the number of people attending.

Also on Friday October 25, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. His Excellency Bishop Robert Shaheen will celebrate a Thanksgiving liturgy for his years as Bishop of the Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon followed by a banquet at the Cedars Hall. Again, I ask you kindly to send your responses and participate at this special event honoring our friend and leader Bishop Robert Shaheen

 

REMINDER

All volunteers are invited to attend and participate at the appreciation party to be

held on Sunday October 13, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Cedars Hall. Please

come and enjoy yourselves and celebrate a job well done!

 
The Ladies Society meeting will be on Tuesday , October 8th at 7 pm in the Lebanon room.
The Men’s Society meeting will be on Thursday, October 10th at 6:30 pm in the Lebanon Room.
All members are invited to attend and participate!
The youth group (MYO) will hold their monthly meeting on Sunday, October13th at 12:00 noon in the Lebanon Room.
